8.7 Conclusion

The preschool years are a special time of relationship building, exploration, and understanding of oneself. Preschoolers are learning important skills such as regulating their emotions and understanding others. They are also able to do many tasks independently. All of these skills will impact them throughout their lives. Children will continue to rely on their caregivers and the attachments formed during the first few years of life as they get ready to move on to the next stage of their lives–middle childhood.
