Multilingual Student and Educator Resources
Organization and Homeostasis of the Human Body
These Student Worksheets and Educator Materials have been designed with Multilingual Learners in mind. The purpose of providing a translated version in the primary language of the student is to provide comprehensible input to allow the student to fully understand the material. After this primary comprehension of the material, then comprehension in the target language (English) will come second. With both the primary language and English provided, teachers can have students understand the material then practice reading, writing, and even speaking it in English.
Since this material is an Open Education Resource, having the materials translated into other languages makes sense. It is possible that others in the world could benefit from this curriculum.
ChatGPT was used to translate all the material. Individual AI threads were created and given specific context and instructions for each language. A master thread was created and was used to analyze the translations for accuracy when accuracy was in question, and to periodically spot-check. Every effort was made to ensure as accurate a translation as possible. The language choices were based on the most common languages in the Oregon public school districts. It is by no means comprehensive, but it is a start.
