- Becoming close with professors as you may have to miss a class and make up assignments
- Your teammates and coach(es) become another family
- Financial Aid
- Staying active and healthy
- Looks great on job resumes
The Cons of Being a Student Athlete
- Missing class for games
- Getting behind on schoolwork if not using time management
- Not getting the amount of study time needed
- Always having a risk of being injured
- Not getting the full 8 hours of sleep needed at bedtime, so you nap throughout the day when you should be focusing on school related items
- Most student athletes will become more dedicated to their sports rather than their schoolwork
