The base of the book is from OpenStax, much of which was reworded and reorganized. The main reorganizations were moving linear regression to module 3, adding information about the coefficient of determination and residual plots, editing probability material in module 4 to add relevant ideas for future engineers, adding a module 12 for control charts, removing all outdated problem sets, adding derivations requiring calculus as needed and as desired. Much of the content of module 12 was taken from the NIST resource, which offers web pages as a public service by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and from the open resource Applications of Control Charts for Quality Improvement in Health Care.
