Overview
In Unit 2, we discussed open licenses and how they fit into the context of designing your curriculum with equity in mind. You’ve browsed through your entire background scan and drafted your project’s equity statement. Now it’s time to get more specific about planning your textbook.
In this unit, we talk about an important way to focus your curriculum: alignment. This is a key concept that will help you scope your book so that it has exactly what your students need to meet their learning outcomes for a 10-week quarter. You’ll use alignment to ruthlessly right-size your book.
In this unit, your author team drafts a book description, identifies the course level outcomes for your curriculum, and starts creating an outline for your book. In the next unit, we’ll add much more detail to each topic in your outline.
