- Recognize the goals of the preliminary review process.
- Develop preliminary review questions with your author team in consultation with the Project Manager.
Overview
Welcome to Unit 5! You’ve drafted a consistent chapter structure and started to detail the content of each chapter. In this two-week unit, we return to instructional design approaches that center student agency, knowledge, and meaning-making specifically for underserved student groups. You’ll also start to prepare your outline for external reviewers to provide preliminary review.
The next unit will be the last opportunity to work on your About This Book document before we send it out for review. We will change gears and discuss writing the first chapters of your book.

| Individual authors finalize outline sections for chapters they will write, using culturally responsive strategies in chapter sections and subsections to outline. | 5-8 hours |
| Identify Recommended Peer Reviewers and Workforce Advisory Board members, and customize peer review questions in the {Course Name} Peer Review Questions document in your author folder. | 1-3 hours |
