Y2 Unit 8.1: Learning Objectives and Overview

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the benefits and potential barriers of including H5P for students.
  2. Examine criteria for creating student-centered H5P activities.
  3. Evaluate H5P which has been created for equity-minded, student-centered learning.
  4. Design at least one H5P activity that meets the project’s criteria for success.

Overview

If you’re following the Year 2 author units in order, then you’re on your third pass through your chapters. This unit offers more details and examples of how to develop H5P questions to promote student-centered learning in your textbook.

When done well, H5P interactives can highlight the interventions your book makes in your field. They can also emphasize key equity-minded applications of chapter concepts. However, H5P can also confuse students if wording is vague or if answers marked as incorrect are actually correct (or vice versa). This unit is designed to help students get the most out of the interactives you design.
