In addition to the web version, this book is available for download in various files.  In some cases, the process of converting files into alternative formats can inadvertently introduce new accessibility challenges.

How to Download alternative file format:

  1. On the textbook home screen
  2. Under book image to the right side of the screen, look for the “Download this book”
  3. Click the drop-down menu to select the file type for download

Known Accessibility Issues and Areas for Improvement

Pre-publication accessibility check was preformed to review,  requirements set forth under Title II of the Americans With Disabilities Act and align with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. While we strive to make our resources as accessible as possible, but we might not always get it right. Any issues we identifed will be listed below.

List of Known Accessibility Issues

  • This textbook links out to many third-party webpages. While we strive to meet accessibility standards with our created resources, we cannot control the accessibility of external websites, and understand that links are not stagnate, with potential to break. 
  • This project aims to support teachers by providing, lesson plan examples, with downloadable supplementary materials such as featured sources and activity sheets, available in formats like, PDF, DOCX and PPTX. These resources are designed primarily as physical handouts for classroom use, as such, have not been reviewed for compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
