Step 1: Creating a Lane Pressbooks Account
How to Create Your Account
- You will need to be added to Lane’s Open Oregon Pressbooks account. (Do not register an account on pressbooks.com).
- Email Meggie Wright, Lane’s OER Pressbooks Administrator, to request to be added to the account. WrightM@lanecc.edu.
- An email will be sent to your Lane email address with an activation link. Click on this link to activate your account.
- A user name will be assigned to you. Your name can be personalized in the user profile area.
- After account activation, proceed to Step Two: Add Your Book Info.

While this Quick Guide is only intended to start you up, the Pressbooks User Guide will walk you through everything you can do with Pressbooks. Here you will find answers for common questions, as well as help for more advanced ones.
The Guide has been written to help Lane Community College faculty understand how to best use and integrate Pressbooks with Lane’s LMS Moodle system.

If you only wish to be the content expert/author of your book and do not have interest in designing it yourself, you can have a Lane OER Production Coordinator create your textbook for you.
Contact Meggie Wright to be added to our production queue, and you can submit your content to our team for layout, design, and production.
