Chapter 5: Emotions

Think back to a time when you were very upset. Can you remember what you were upset about? What about a time when you were really happy? Which event sticks out more in your mind? Often, we are much better at remember events associated with negative emotions.

In this chapter, we will examine the functions of our emotions, the impact that culture plays in how we display our emotions, and emotional intelligence. At the end of this chapter, you will complete activities to apply the emotion concepts you learned about to increase your understanding of human relations.
