10.0 WARM-UP WRITING

This week’s warm-up writing challenge is to write one sentence that uses all three types of clauses:

  • noun clause
  • adjective clause
  • adverb clause

Underline and label each type of clause.

Example: When I finish college, what I want is a job that pays a lot of money.

  • “When I finish college” = adverb clause (it explains when)
  • “what I want” = noun clause (this idea is the subject of the sentence)
  • “that pays a lot of money” = adjective clause (it describes which kind of job I want)
